God have mercy. This ‘egg’ was found in a man’s body

Definately not an Easter egg.

An oval-shaped object was discovered in a 62-year-old man's body by a surgeon at a Washington, D.C. Hospital . The surgeon was dismayed by what he saw.

Despite bearing a strong resemblance to an egg, it turned out to be a benign 3.34-inch growth, Huffpost reported.

‘The mass was likely made of a small piece of fat that fell away from its attachments when the patient was very young,’ said urologist Dr. Rachael Sussman

‘Over time the fat calcified and continued to grow. Like a pearl inside an oyster.’

The peritoneal loose body was removed in 2013 but a report on it was recently published in the New England Journal of Medicine by Dr Sussman and Dr Jonah Murdock. They said the growth is the largest growth of its kind removed from a human body.
