Gertrude Weaver, who six days ago was named as the world’s oldest living person, has died aged 116.
She was a strong supporter of Obama as she voted for him twice. It was her wish for Obama to be present on her 117th birthday.
Her death was announced by the Silver Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Centre in Arkansas.
Though, she had no official birth record but there were Landmark to support her claim as her name was listed in 1900 census. Her official birthday was celebrated on the 4th of July.
She worked as a domestic helper.
She attributed her long life to doing exercise even though she was on wheelchair and treating others well.
The accolade will pass on to Jeralean Talley of Inskter, who will be 116 in May. Telegraph u.k
